KHTML and WebKit look set to unfork, and WebKit have recently announced a set of project goals (and non-goals), which include the statement:
WebKit is an engine, not a browser.
Which does beg the question: why is their blog called Surfin’ Safari, and prominently feature the Safari logo?
Actually, the log for “Surfin’ Safari” is the Webkit logo. The Safari logo uses silver as the border color of the compass; Webkit uses gold. Admittedly it’s a small difference. I don’t know why the blog is called “Surfin’ Safari” other than the typical “let’s name the blog something clever” a la “Broken Links” :)
